Postgraduate study

If you are thinking of doing a postgraduate programme at Glyndŵr University, there are many options which may be of interest to you ranging from postgraduate taught degrees to postgraduate research degrees, such as an MPhil or PhD.

Glyndŵr University has always had a strong research and scholarship base which has had a significant influence on the programmes taught. This ensures that our students are able to interact with staff who are fully cognisant with the latest research and scholarship in their discipline.

The extent and range of research activities undertaken within the University has expanded considerably over the past ten years. We have embraced a culture of research and scholarship across all our subjects to enhance the quality of the curriculum in both its design and implementation. 
  
Postgraduate qualifications are becoming increasingly important in today's competitive world. A PhD or Masters degree can make the difference in securing that valuable job. As with undergraduate programmes, the skills obtained in following a postgraduate programme - whether it is taught or through research - will be of use throughout the rest of your career and beyond.

Professional Courses

The university offers a range of professional courses, generally offering membership to professional bodies and essential for entry into certain career paths.  The courses are specifically tailored to certain careers such as marketing, human resources and teaching.  The completion of many of these courses offers exemption from parts of masters courses.

Courses start in September / October each year, but some also offer a January start.  The courses vary in length but more last for one year of part time study per level.
