After you have applied

Once we have received your application, your application will be carefully considered.

Decisions are usually made within a month of receipt but at certain times of the year and when an interview is required, decisions may take longer.

Decisions

If you have been unsuccessful, a reason or advice will help to guide you to make the next step. Offers will be either unconditional or conditional on academic examination results and, in certain cases, other conditions such as the gaining of experience in a setting related to the course.

Courses involving work with young people or vulnerable adults will usually require Criminal Records Bureau clearance.

Interviews

For certain courses such as Education, Nursing and Social Work, interviews are compulsory. Most courses, however, offer the opportunity for an informal interview prior to making an offer. Art and Design courses will require the presentation of a portfolio while Theatre, Television and Performance will request an audition.

Direct Applications

Once a decision has been made, you will receive a letter. If you have been success (unconditional or conditional), you should return the reply slip indicating whether you wish to take up the offer of a place.

UCAS Applications

For UCAS applicants, all official decisions will be made through UCAS and will be visible on your UCAS Track. Instructions on how to select and accept offers are available on the UCAS website. You will be able to view the ongoing status of your application online via UCAS Track.
