English Language Support

The Second Language Learning Centre delivers different types of courses depending on the requirements of the student. 

English programmes can be taken as an academic qualification, for speakers of other languages.  There are also our support programmes. These are specially designed for people who already have the academic skills for their chosen course but need to upgrade and enhance their skills and knowledge of English. 

If English is not your first language, we offer extra training, so you can improve your language skills with classes that fit around your main academic timetable. 

The support packages are especially popular and are available as a short 'pre-sessional' course that runs immediately before you enrol onto your main course of study.  The length of the course depends on your current English ability levels, which we will assess when you make your application.

There is a charge for the pre-sessional courses, which depends on the length of the programme
