Previous exhibitions 2011Mister Mercer31 March 2011 - 31 August 2011 Named after an American archeologist who built the world’s first concrete castle, ‘Mister Mercer’ is an exhibition by Sarah Macdonald, Eleanor Wright and Richard Whitby. The artists are interested in architecture, spaces and the repercussions of inscrutable decisions made about built environments. In painting, video and installation, they show a predilection for the melancholy of derelict places and strange disruptions of existing forms and images.

Its geographic position is taken as a plus point by Melanie Counsell who brings together a diverse and varied group of artists based in Wales, Scotland, England and France, offering them a unique opportunity to throw caution to the wind and try out untested, unresolved or as yet unseen art work. The exhibition includes photographs, sculpture, music, audio works and performance from artists working in a variety of ways and at different stages of their careers, each offering a small sample of their present practice.
