These courses are ideal for people who wish to enhance their CV and employability, develop their communication skills, or simply function more easily in today’s multilingual environment.
The range of languages currently offered are: Chinese (Mandarin), Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Swedish. These are fast progressing university level foreign language classes which run 5pm–8pm, once a week.
All languages are offered at beginners level, some are offered up to upper intermediate level (CEFR B2 or AS-level). All foreign language tuition includes a cultural element.
The courses involve a 40 hour classroom learning experience with plenty of guided self-study opportunities. The end of module assessment includes all four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Oral skills (speaking/listening) will be trained and practised at the lower levels whilst written skills (writing/reading) gain more importance at the higher levels. All languages are offered as validated programmes, and 20 Higher Education credits and a University Transcript are awarded on completion of each module.
