MSc Aeronautical Engineering

MRes Aeronautical Engineering

The field of aeronautical engineering is one of the most diverse, technically advanced and challenging in which to work. As the UK is renowned for its excellence in aeronautical engineering, studying to Master's level in Wales, which has a long history of aeronautical engineering, is a powerful combination at this time.

Aeronautical Engineering

Key facts

  • These courses allow you to apply to become a student member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS)
  • The courses will stimulate your interest in aeronautical engineering and enable you to develop new concepts
  • These Master's courses are focused on research and development in areas such as computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis, design, applied aerodynamics, blended wing, structure design, aerodynamic noise reduction and advanced materials development

Aeronautical engineering is a fast-paced and popular area of engineering. With the global trend towards high-speed travel and the recent radical design of double-decker commercial aircraft, there’s never been a more exciting or interesting time to study this subject.
Glyndŵr University has close links with the aerospace industry including Airbus UK, which has helped tailor the course to meet industry requirements.

Career opportunities

The courses will give you the chance to advance your career to management levels. You might also consider consultancy, research and development, testing and design positions within the aeronautical industry. Airbus is a classic example of an employer excelling in this field in the north Wales region.
