BSc (Hons) Acupuncture
This degree is accredited by the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been designed to respond to the growing demand for a high quality academic qualification in the field of complementary medicine. Chinese Medicine is a system of healing based upon the Chinese understanding of the correspondence between nature (Tao) and human beings.
This course introduces the theories of Chinese Medicine including the principles of Yin and Yang, macrocosm and microcosm, Qi, diagnostics and their application to practice. This philosophy is based upon holism with the prime objective of treatment to enable the client to regain new balance and return to a state of well being.
The course prepares you as a professional in the methods of Chinese Medicine including Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Patent Medicine. As well as developing an understanding of Chinese philosophy, you will also acquire knowledge of health sciences, research and therapeutic skills as well as developing your skills in communication, presentation, reflection, information gathering, problem-solving and evaluation.
At the end of the degree you will be able to pursue a challenging and fulfilling career as a professional practitioner in Acupuncture and areas allied to Chinese Medicine.
