FdA Festival and Events Management

Managing and supervising festivals and events of all shapes and sizes requires a professional team of people with a diverse range of skills.

A degree in events management will prepare you for a career in an exciting and varied industry which has grown in scale and significance over the last decade. During your studies you will acquire the skills, knowledge and competencies required to plan, manage and execute a range of festivals and events.

These skills will be valuable in areas including conferences, corporate hospitality, culture, festivals, hotels and destinations, leisure, pageants, tourism and travel. Many of these skills are transferable to other sectors and are highly sought after in many business and management fields.

BA (Hons) Business and Events Management

This course will equip you with the strategic and operational skills to plan, execute and manage festivals and events from initial concept through to successful completion. You will study the key business elements involved in event management from finance, and managing information to marketing your event and dealing with human resource management aspects. 

You will also undertake a project which allows you to focus on an area which interests you with the festival and events industry.

FdA Festival and Events Management

This management course has been designed to enable the development of management skills that support a successful festival or event.

These include general management, project management, marketing, planning and control. The course will focus on providing a combination of academic knowledge supported by practical skills to develop an effective manager in the diverse and expanding industry.

In addition the course also offers the opportunity to study a wider range of business-based modules.

As an integral part of the course you will gain practical experience within the industry. You will be expected to obtain a work placement position at a festival or event of your choice at the end of semester 2 and complete a learning diary during this period.

Guidance will be provided regarding the selection and suitability of placements to ensure you acquire the relevant experience.
