Opportunities and your future

Degree courses in the Humanities are ideal for those people who want to keep their future career options open or to broaden their horizons whilst developing their knowledge and experience in stimulating subject areas.

We have a wide range of students, of all ages and experiences, from Sixth Form entrants to those returning to education to further their careers or simply pursue subjects in more depth.

Our courses are about opening doors into the future and, as a graduate from Glyndŵr University, you will have developed the skills and attributes that employers want: confidence, and the ability to analyse and communicate at all levels and to enthuse and lead others.

Our graduates go into a very wide range of careers once they have left. Over the past five years our former students have developed careers in journalism, broadcasting, further and higher education, public administration, the communications industries, teaching (primary, secondary and FE), research, library and information management services, retail management, marketing, the civil service, office management, publishing, archive management, cultural administration, media sales, and leisure and hotel management.

What do you do with a degree in Humanities?

We've been asking our former students, graduates since 1995, what sort of jobs they have found since graduation. It's a long and varied list. In most cases former students have worked their way through a number of jobs before arriving at their current career destination.

As the list shows, however, a degree in subjects such as English, History, Media, Writing or Performance can lead to a remarkable range of possible forms of employment, and open up all sorts of opportunities for life after graduation:
