Personal Development Planning (PDP)
In 2006/7 the School of Humanities implemented a system of Personal Development Planning, PDP. The essence of the PDP process is that you develop a record of skills, competencies, interests and knowledge as you progress throughout the programme, and this is recorded in a file, your Progress File. The aim of the PDP process is to help you to recognise and develop your skills, interests and knowledge and to help you for your life and career after graduation. We hope that this process will be of considerable benefit to you throughout your time on the BA Humanities programme at Glyndŵr University and also in your life after graduation. Many of the skills and the range of experience you develop through your degree will be of considerable benefit to you, and using the PDP process will help you to record your development and help you to plan your future. At the heart of the PDP process is the Student Progress File. This is a record of evidence which you build up and maintain throughout the course. The file includes:
