Robin completed his degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 2008 at the University of Cumbria in Lancaster (previously St Martins College).
His keen interest in the subject has brought him to Glyndŵr University to pursue a career in higher education.
Robin is currently studying for a PhD in Pediatric Exercise Physiology under the supervision of Dr Sue Taylor and is conducting a study into the health and fitness of primary school aged children across the county of Denbighshire.
Robin is funded through Denbighshire County Council’s BIG Lotto Funded Way of Life Project, called the ‘F’ Factor Project, which consists of testing the health and fitness levels of primary school children.
Robin has recently designed the ‘F’ Factor F.U.N. Club, an intervention program focusing on fitness and understanding nutrition.
Robin’s other roles are part-time lecturer, Glyndwr University, Head of Education at Exertrain, a fitness specialist company for athletes, Fitness Coach to Holywell Swimming Club, and Fitness Coach to Brymbo Cricket Club.
Robin’s other qualifications include; CSCC MMA (Institute of Human Performance), CYQ Level 3 Advanced Personal Trainer (Northern Fitness and Education Ltd), ECB Level 2 Cricket Coach (including video analysis), and he is also a member of the BASES strength and conditioning interest group.
In addition to Robin’s passion for fitness (he worked in the fitness industry during his degree course) he has always been a sports fanatic - mainly cricket, football and basketball.
